Apparently, Taco Bell could stand to run their employees through some customer service training. This next little tidbit occurred in Spring Hill, Florida. Its about an hour north of our little Dunedin, but I do have some patients that come from there to see me.
So one of the customers going through the drive through asked for his soda in a "hispanic tone". What might that be? Did the reporter mean that the customer spoke in his own hispanic accent? Or was she implying that he was imitating a hispanic accent? Truthfully, it doesn't matter.
The Taco Bell employee, rather than just answering the question, mimiced the customer's voice when replying that "Your soda is right here man". The employee even said to the cops that he answered the customer in the same "tone".
The customer later returned with a knife, and told the employee (who was outside of the store smoking) that he would kill him. He showed him the knife. The police later caught up with the customer, who said that he was upset that the employee always spits in his food.
Now, I don't know if this is a rude customer or what, but anyway you boil it down, Taco Bell has some pretty crappy customer service. Come on down, our employees will mock you or spit in your food.
I'm not saying that the customer was right to want to kill the employee over these petty offences (unless he was really hungry), but seriously, how far has business conduct in this country fallen? You can't walk into a convenience store without seeing a cashier text messaging. Don't even get me started about the waitress that took care of my staff and I during our last trip to Chicago. She got our order wrong and then argued with us about it.
In my office, the customer is always right. Doesn't matter if the customer is actually right. Doesn't matter if the customer is actually rude. Doesn't matter what the circumstance. If my business can reasonably accomodate you, we will.
