Sooooo... WOW! What is going on here? Every where I turn I hear on the news that oil is setting new record highs EVERY DAY! Now, I'm not an economist so I don't completely understand how the price of oil is set by people "speculating" what it "might" cost companies to produce oil, rather than what it ACTUALLY costs them to do it, but hey, that's just me.
When I filled up my porsche the other day, it cost me $57! I know, I know, if I can afford to drive a porsche, I can afford to fill it up. And I should pay more taxes too. Spare me. Anyhow, back to the point...
Gas is at a record high, food is at a record high, stocks are at a record low... and what's being done about it? We're getting economic stimulus checks? We're getting vague non-answers from all our candidates? People are shouting for us to start drilling in Alaska?
I heard an expert on a news commentator's show the other day explaining that if we were going to start drilling in Alaska it would take TEN YEARS for it to begin to impact our supplies and economy. Anyone really think we have ten years?
I'm a big believer that you're either part of the problem or part of the solution. I personally prefer to be part of the solution, so here's what I'm going to do...

Well if we had started drilling for oil in ANWR 10 years ago we would be using it today, we need more refineries , the last new one was over 30 years ago , what I get a real big kick out of is the people complaining about the high price of gas , are the same one's passing me on both sides ( I drive 65 in the center lane) on I -4 going 80 miles a hour they use twice the gas going to Tampa as I do !!!!!
Dr. Mike: If I ever make it down to Florida, from Augusta GA, I intend to come and meet you. I believe that G_d is soon to show us the new source of energy that we will make from something that has to do with either "garbage" or termites or the digestion process of same, or somthing similar that will eliminate our horrible angst with respect to insane gas prices. When that happens, unless I'm even worse off financially, I intend to buy a big hemi engine V8, and sort of transport myself back in time when as you stepped on the gas peddle you actually jumped forward. I am glad you have a Porshe. I would not think they are any worse on gas than anything else. Another thought, Dr. Mike.....if Isreal's Gaza Strip gets bombed, and the biggest oil reserves on earth is exposed, as long as we are her protector, we may be in quite good shape.
